Abstract

The training in psycho-oncology have the objective of increasing the knowledge and the clinical skills for the evaluation and the treatment of emotional reactions (desmoralization) and the psychiatric disorders of cancer patients and relatives. This training need of a supervisor who develop a program for attending the residents or student´s needs, with two different components, the didactic component and the supervised clinical practice. Likewise, it is important the training of the rest of the medical care team in communication skills or counselling, as a therapeutic approach, and to increase their ability to an early detection of psychiatry disorders with the objective of reducing the emotional affectation in patients and relatives and to begin the emotional care of them as soon as possible.
