The Catalan Cancer Plan and the psycho-oncology

Abstract

The diffusion of psycho-oncology though the last decades aimed at prevention, treatment and palliative care of cancer patients should be acknowledged in our health care system the need to respond to the new needs of cancer patients in the area of psycho-social care requires of increasing the health provision of psycho-oncology. Ins this paper, the background and objectives of the Catalan Cancer Plan regarding the development of psycho-oncology in the cancer care in the coming years is reviewed.
